Contemplative Prayer in Troubled Times

In the midst of social unrest and political turmoil, the saints propose silent prayer as a remedy for troubled times. Evoking the selflessness that this silence makes possible is the spiritual mission of recently canonized Elisabeth of the Trinity. What the Mystic of Dijon proposed at the beginning of the 20th Century speaks into our situation at the beginning of the 21st Century – a call to be immersed in the immensity of God’s love for the transformation one’s own life and the whole world.
